Okay, so a leather jacket has been on my list of things to own for years now, I even remember finding one in a vintage shop a few years back, but not buying because I didn't have the funds. I was reminded of it when I saw this beautiful leather jacket on ASOS curve. I'm far from having £100 to drop on a jacket, so I did some eBay hunting and ended up buying this, which is fake leather, nearly new and originally from Dorothy Perkins, for about £35. Shortly after this version popped up on Inspire for £40, which is a much more tempting price point for the more budget conscious of us.

I have been wearing it with everything this week, it's just perfect for toughening up an everyday look.

This was an errand runing outfit from earlier in the week. I love this skirt, but the length is definitely odd for me - I always feel a little frumpy in it, because I normally wear mid thigh skirts. I'm wearing it more now though, as the bright yellow is such a Spring colour.

I've owned this mustard yellow midi skirt for a good few months now, and worn it sparingly. I got it in the Dorothy Perkins sale, but have never quite twigged onto the perfect way to wear it, without it looking a bit frumpy and long (I like my skirts mid-thigh, and this is mid calf!). I twinned it with my black velvet scalloped mini dress (which I think I love more as a top now!) to wear to work this week, and I think finally got the styling right. The wide scalloped neckline of this dress, combined with a full skirt, feels very 50s to me - it's simple with just the right amount of unique detailing. I'd love to be able to master a scallop in my sewing projects, though sadly I don't seem to get along with circular hemming. Hmm.
