About

I am a fat positive fashion blogger and excessive dresser located in Yorkshire, UK. An avid vintage enthusiast and DIY seamstress with a love for all things thrifted, handmade or on a sale rail, I set up blog Fatty Unbound in 2009, after becoming frustrated with the lack of budget friendly, body positive, and politically conscious fat fashion blogs. I aim to challenge bodily hierarchies and notions of privilege within mainstream fashion circles through a mixture of outfits, strategies, craft tutorials and personal histories, all designed to normalise fat bodies and celebrate body diversity in fashion and beyond.

Fatty Unbound has received media coverage in both on and offline publications and media channels, including Bitch Magazine, The Times and BBC3.

If you would like a press pack or further details, please contact me at fattyunbound [at] gmail [dot] com.

  7. Love Your blog. I've only just discovered blogs properly and found ones with bigger women in so inspirational. So much so I almost do a little cry. Before having my son I would always wear hold it all in undies (didn't need to) Now I don't as I want to be comfortable.. Having your body change so much can be quite devastating but reading blogs such as yours make me reconsider my whole self image. I don't want to feel pressured into clothes that don't fit and are not for me.I want to wear what I want and never have to feel I have to diet to look a certain way. We need more positive role models like you!

  8. Hey! I love this blog; I wish that I had access to blogs like this when I was a teenager and worried constantly about my weight. I worry less now, but it is lovely to see and read about all the positive things you are doing. I have my own (little!) blog where I have just tagged you-hope that's ok! It is also really nice to see someone else crafting and making things. I am an avid maker and customiser of clothes, mostly circle skirts and jumpers; I would be lost without my sewing machine! Keep up the good work.
